Simple Comic Technique
The Snarkoleptics look at Doonesbury this week and how a simple comic technique can show levels of emotional distance in therapy. This link is partly for someone else.

Fact Or Fiction?
While reading my daily Dilbert cartoon, I came across a link to Scott Adams’ Blog. I was intrigued so I read a few of his entries. One of his posts mentions a free E-Book. I downloaded the book and read it in a couple of hours. I believe this is a fictional story, but I cant be sure. One thing I can be certain is it made me think, “Hmmmm”. I haven’t decided if I have just read an amazing document which could shift the paradigm of human thought completely, or a collection of theories which take advantage of the general populations ability to understand only 75% of any concept.

Kiss The Ring, Disney
When I first heard the story about Disney absorbing Pixar, I was apprehensive, to say the least. Sure, the rumors said that Steve Jobs would wind up the #1 Disney megastockholder, but that didn't seem like enough insurance to me. Disney, after all, corrupts everything that is good and pure and, you know, original and creative...so I was freaking the hell out.

Why I Chose My Project Topic
For my project, I chose 2 political cartoons dealing with the issue of abortion. As soon as I saw this cartoon, I knew i wanted to do my project on a subject that I debate over quite often.

Futurama
Fox and Matt Groening are reportedly discussing a deal to bring Futurama back to Fox for a new season. This being my favorite show I am quite excited by this talk. I was browsing Futurama’s IMDb listing and noticed that Billy West (former voice of Ren and Stimpy, Bugs Bunny, and many others) not only is the voice of Fry, but also Zoidberg, Prof. Farnsworth, Zapp Brannigan, etc, etc.

The Dilbert Blog
I don't care who you are, this is just funny. If you have a chance be sure to check out The Dilbert Blog on a regular basis. Scott Adams isn't afraid to talk about controversial stuff and while there are always way too many comments to read, some of them are funny and insightful.

Finding Old Comics!
In unpacking more of our sea of boxes from our move last summer, we came across a pile of Slade’s old comics from when he was a kid. Seby & Zane both were amazed by them. Graham heard they had them in their room and needed to get a pile to read in bed. Fun Fun Fun

Review: Chronicles of Narnia
The shear entertainment value of the movie is through the roof. It was probably one of the most enjoyable movies I’ve seen recently. Moreover, its two hour run time flies by as you get engrossed in the events taking place, themes being presented and emotional chords being rung. Finally, Disney, on their own, did something worthwhile. It was probably the best since Pirates of the Caribbean. (Did Disney even release others (Pixar not included) in between?)

TV Politics
Giving my grey matter a rest during my boys’ winter break, I had the opportunity to tune into another “World According to Jim” episode called, “Sex Ed Fred”. Although I found it funny (I also find “Family Guy” funny), it was disturbing in a way very different than the in your face, I refuse to be politically correct, experience one receives on the “Adult Swim” channel. This is because the Hollywood liberals who wrote and produced this show had exactly the opposite agenda.Read the whole post.

What Happened To Cartoon Network?
I am not ashamed to say it - I love Adult Swim on the Cartoon Network. I have always loved cartoons and as I became an adult I discovered cartoons for big people. I mostly love Adult Swim because I really dig anime. I always have.

Dear Cartoon Network
Well, okay, not quite all. Frankly, you’re not playing anything that I either A) haven’t seen [Goonies, Batman, Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, Honey I Shrunk The Kids] or B) have wanted to see [Snow Day, other stuff I’m forgetting]. Part of my opinion is based on the fact that I got to see Batman in the theater about a dozen times* and that The Goonies is a better book than a movie. Part of it is that, frankly, non-animated stuff (outside of commercials, I guess) is just not part of my conception of a cartoon network.

South Park Reruns
Welcome to the new year. I started mine with the flu. New Year’s Eve was spent at the usual party where I felt crappy and bitchy, but tried my best. After midnite I ended up snuggled on the sofa watching South Park but not being able to hear it over the karaoke. I did enjoy seeing my husband sing karaoke. He’s always so against it, but someone managed to force him to sing once and he just kept on singing. It was great. But I felt like crap and couldn’t enjoy it fully. Plus everytime I had tried to sing someone jumped in front of me or took my microphone. I got too mad at everyone to care anymore and secluded myself to South Park reruns.

Important Documents
Dismantling my room led me to open my mysterious “important documents” bag, unexplored for many a year. To my surprise, the bag contained about 4% important material, a large assortment of indie comics from the mid-90s, and a ton of trash. The important portion was worth the rooting about.

And, as if that weren’t exciting enough, I’ve also reposted three of the “classic” EatBoogers.com animations. You’ll need the flash player to view the cartoons. You’ll need professional therapy to recover from the damage they’ll do to your brain.

Farawayistan is a comic drawn by a dutch person named Syl who also likes wearing cowboy hats. I think this comic is funny in the way dogs would be funny if they had two backsides.

Laugh Once A Day
I've done this because I have enjoyed posting cartoons here so much that I am going to continue. After I finish posting the snowman cartoons I have stashed away, this blog will continue on with more fun things; miscellaneous cartoons/jokes and such. Politics is pretty serious stuff and everyone needs a laugh at least once a day!
