Red Light - Green Light 123 From Dashboard Spy

cartoon animation corporate dashboard
Animating the corporate dashboard.

These are perfect for use in your dashboard storyboards and mockups created as you work through the iterative development of dashboards with each audience. You can use simple Powerpoint animations to show how the dashboard will work based on the rules you will agree upon with each audience as well. Very cool!

Deconstructing Cartoon Favorites

cartoons hyungkoo lee
A look under the skin of famous cartoon characters like Mickey Mouse.

If you troll through the little online gallery you’ll see favorites such as Mickey Mouse, Bugs Bunny, the Coyote and Roadrunner. There are also a number of images for documentation purposes. It took a number of people required to make the three dimensional versions of the skeletons. And they’re not exactly small, either.

George Bush Cartoons

Click through for the George Bush cartoon.

I’m quite a fan of George W Bush and find most of the cartoons made about him to be cheap shots. But sometimes someone draws something that’s clever and you have to suspend your allegiance and just applaud the creative thought. I think this is one of those moments:

Review: Idiocracy

cartoons idiocracy
From a review of Idiocracy, a bit about Beavis and Butthead.

Culture is a constant TV stream of reality Beavis and Butthead type material (pondering the irony of that, considering Judge’s contirubtion to those pop culture icons, is left as an exercise to the viewer). Lay-z-boy loungers have toilets built in - fitting given that most entertainment involves jokes about the human butt. All services are provided either by poorly programmed machines or thoroughly programmed people. Starbucks is a chain of brothels. What humor there is to be found in the movie - and there are nuggests of genius - usually relies on the comedic reducto ad absurdum of having complete imbeciles running the country.

One I Like!

cartoon cox and forkum political cartoon
Click through for the Cox and Forkum political cartoon.

Actually, I like more than one of Cox and Forkum’s political cartoons but I don’t like many of them, because it is right-wing drivel which is something I’m trying to stay away from. This one though is worth sharing.
