Kiddy Stuff?
After a lot of reviews and recommendations I had to watch Madagascar. Now there are very few animated movies, which I have enjoyed - Shrek being one of them.

Review: Chicken Little
in short, DO NOT, i repeat, DO NOT watch this movie on a weekend, it’ll make u feel like banging your head on the wall, yanking out the cinema seats or just wishing you took a couple of dormicum tabs to just fugue out a bit. it’s only 1 hr 15min long. it’s not as ‘emotion-provoking’ and musically-inclined as shrek, it’s not as adorable as finding nemo, and it’s not as funny as madagascar!

The Hollywood Slump
Once again, Hollywood is shocked that their box office gross has slumped? For a record 18 weeks, the box office revenues have dwindled. It’s at its worst levels since 1981. But should we be surprised? The question comes to mind? Is the product or is it the buyers? Herbie Love Bug—modern remake, Star Wars( trilogy, a series), Land of the Dead (another series), Bewitched ( a remake of a tv series) and Madagascar( another line in same genre Finding Nemo, Mulan, Toy Story), an animated feature filled with every other star in Hollywood. Remakes, remakes–the same stuff. This is what is driving the audience way. No one is fooled. Hollywood is just trying to get another blockbuster instead of making a good movie.

Madagascar Penguins
Overall, Madagascar was “alright”. It had some pretty funny parts that made you laugh outloud, but it wasn’t close to being the best animation film I’ve seen. (I think “Finding Nemo” probably tops that list). So, I’d probably give Madagascar only 5 or 6 stars out of 10. Probably 5. Although, I’m sure Eva liked the film a lot more than I did. We’ll have to see what she says about it. Now, the penguins in the film were absolutely hilarious. If they would have made a movie just about the penguins — it would have been a 10 hands down (even though their flippers are up in the photo above)!

Boy's First Movie
Taking the boy to see his first movie in a theatre tomorrow - Madagascar. He seems less anxious than his parents. It's a daddy and boy solo trip too. We'll see how it goes.

Review: Madagascar
The latest computer-animated extravaganza from DreamWorks is certainly an improvement over last year’s desperate “Shark Tale,” but it’s not as crisp start-to-finish as the “Shrek” movies. And it falls into the same trap as so many films of this genre (with the notable exception of “The Incredibles"): In an effort to seem hip and high-energy with a litany of pop-culture references, the writing (from a team of four) instead comes off as hackneyed and lazy.
